Cutter to Houston

Die Chirurgin Dr. Beth Gilbert vom neuen Cutter Community Hospital fliegt zum Katastropheneinsatz auf ein Ölfeld. Sie amputiert dem eingeklemmten Frank Bickum den rechten Arm. Der junge Mann, ein begeisterter Rodeo-Reiter, wird gerettet, leidet aber schwer unter seiner Behinderung. Er verbietet, daß seine schwangere Frau Ginny im „Cutter“ behandelt wird.

Three young doctors (Shelley Hack, Jim Metzler, Alec Baldwin) trained at tho Texas Medical Center are sent to the small town of Cutter, where they establish a community hospital.
