Ran believes her mother is having an affair with another man after finding a picture of her with another guy. She and Conan decide to get down to the truth, and spy on her and the man while they are at a restaurant, but Conan figures there is more to the man than meets the eye.

Ran se lleva a Conan a visitar a su madre para recordarle que es el aniversario de la primera cita con Kogoro. Ran encuentra a Eri destante y cree que tiene un amante por lo que decide seguirle hasta la cafetería en donde ambos habían quedado para sorpresa de Ran, sus peores sospechas se confirman.
