The team from Oscar’s Place is called out on a special mission to help a woman who is going through financial hardship and can no longer afford her animals. She has already parted ways with her horse, and now it’s time to get rid of her beloved mini donkey Hoorah. Despite a bad reputation for trailer loading, Kenneth handles Hoorah with ease, but once they get back to Oscar’s Place, it’s apparent he’s a very stressed-out donkey as he’s continuously pacing and not eating. The team tries integrating him quicker than normal to try and get him comfortable and start eating again, but ultimately, it’s another donkey named Thor, who takes Hoorah under his wing and gets him back at a feeder again. Many months later, Kris, Hoorah’s former owner, comes back to visit Hoorah and couldn’t be happier with how happy and healthy he is. Like so many others before him, this was a major success!
Rosie is a wild donkey who came to Oscar’s Place pregnant and without a whole lot known about her. With an impending pregnancy, Ron tasks Hugo to begin working with Rosie and start socializing her as much as he can to make it easier when the team will need to get their hands on Rosie’s baby for a neo-natal exam. Rosie surprises everyone with a rare, midday pasture birth, but the team is in position to assist in case of emergency – which winds up being necessary, when Rosie’s foal gets pinned up against a fence. Hugo’s work with Rosie gets her and her foal into the barn and out of the cold, and a day later, Dr. Kerry is able to check on them and confirm that baby Perl is a very healthy baby!
Ron and Kenneth travel to Bowie, Texas, to rescue donkeys from a livestock auction. Their primary goal is to keep bonded pairs together. Because donkeys are deeply social animals, separating them from their closest companions can be devastating. In the end, Ron and Kenneth save 21 donkeys, including many bonded pairs. Nearly three weeks later, the group arrives at Oscar’s Place. Day one brings rough weather, but it clears in time for intake exams the next morning. Once vaccinated and freed of their auction numbers, the donkeys can finally begin a new, peaceful life at Oscar’s Place.
For nearly two years, Megan has been hoping to rescue a mother/daughter donkey duo in rough shape after their primary caretaker passed away. Now, the moment to act has finally come. It’s a bittersweet decision for Carla, the current owner, to let go of Rosalie and Chrissy, but without her late husband, she hasn’t been able to give them the care they deserve - especially an aging Rosalie. After a tense trailer loading, Megan ushers the duo safely to Ron and the team. Rosalie arrives in poor condition, but with corrective hoof trims and proper care, she's set on a better path. Everyone knows Rosalie won’t be around forever, but there’s no better place for a senior donkey to spend her final chapter.
