Dennis Hopper plays Ferno, a tough young American assigned to deliver vital information to the French Underground after tests have proved his almost superhuman powers of endurance. Charles Gregson portrays Colonel Ballin of British Intelligence, who has to mask his natural instincts as he carries out his plan to send a fellow man to almost certain death when he selects Ferno for his assignemnt.
