Series following fighter pilots from RAF Cottesmore in action over war-torn Afghanistan. At IV Squadron in Kandahar, engineers must deal with a Harrier returning with a live bomb still attached to the aircraft. Meanwhile, their colleagues from Naval strike wing prepare for their imminent deployment to Afghanistan.
Hoggy becomes re-acquainted with Kandahar airbase as naval strike wing arrives for their four-month deployment. At RAF Cottesmore, pilots and ground crew take part in survival and weapons training.
Hoggy and his wingman prepare for a mission over Afghanistan but there is a problem with one of the Harriers. And troops at the base get a chance to visit a local market.
The airbase comes under rocket attack from the Taliban, and IV Squadron spend time training in a Harrier simulator as they prepare to go back to Afghanistan.
