日本各地の地域に基づく民話や神話、伝説、落語などのお話を子供から大人まで広く楽しめるお話としてアニメ化。1話毎にアニメ作家が担当するスタイルになっている。キャストは柄本明と松金よね子のみで、両名が各話ごとに老若男女、様々な配役を担当する。
