Im Zentrum des neuen Samstagskrimis steht mit Sarah Frankfurter eine erfahrene Kommissarin, die nicht nur in der von Gegensätzen geprägten Bankenhauptstadt Frankfurt ermittelt, sondern auch mit der dortigen jüdischen Gemeinde verbunden ist. Diese Lebenswelt ist im deutschen Krimigenre bislang wenig sichtbar, und es ist dieser selbstverständliche Blick auf jüdisches Alltagsleben, der dem Film neue Anknüpfungspunkte verleiht.
