With the divorce finally finalized, Kyung-joo and Jung-hwan begin to think about their future together. Meanwhile, Chae-ok makes Kyung-joo promise to raise her son, Chae-dong, well before leaving for China.
In truth, Chae-ok’s company has already gone bankrupt, and debt collectors come looking for Jung-hwan, demanding repayment. In order to help Chae-ok, Jung-hwan heads to China. Kyung-joo, meanwhile, lies to him, saying that she plans to go to Italy as well, and the two set off on separate paths.
