该剧改编自凝陇的同名小说，讲述了成王世子蔺承佑和将门之女滕玉意之间一段涉及前世今生的爱恋。滕玉意遭奸人所杀，醒来时发现自己重回到被杀前一年，表姐未死，阿爷健在，还意外获得了一把能斩妖除魔的“小涯剑”。在这把神剑的帮助下，滕玉意踏上了找寻真相之路。结果因为一次交集，她与成王世子结下梁子，两人不打不相识，从此开始了鸡飞狗跳的并肩捉妖之路。
