Sunny and M.K. have become separated, each imprisoned in places from which escape seems impossible. While M.K. struggles desperately to control his powers, Sunny vows to break free from his cage and return to the Badlands to find his family—even if it costs him his life. Yet the fact that he has killed more than four hundred people cannot be erased, and Sunny must pay the price for the sins of his past. The Clippers and Colts receive help from a mysterious new ally, though their motives are far from pure. Meanwhile, the Baron known as the Widow continues to consolidate her strength, ruthlessly conquering other barons. But a dark and enigmatic new threat rises, swearing vengeance against them all. As the story unfolds, alliances are shaken, friendships betrayed, and the lives of Sunny and M.K. are forever altered—with catastrophic consequences.
