Briscoe e Curtis indagano sull'omicidio di un anziano molto ricco, ma sospettano subito della moglie ex ballerina di un night club, che oltre ad avere un movente, ha anche un alibi di ferro. Briscoe e Curtis allora sospettano su alcuni ragazzi di famiglia modesta che avevano trascorso la serata con la vittima, la quale li stava supportando economicamente nei loro studi al college. Tutto quello che i detective scoprono indagando in tale direzione è il tentativo di furto di una pelliccia, che però apre una falla nell'alibi della moglie.
