Das Leben im Lande der Briten ist nicht leicht. Alles ist verdammt teuer, und Geld ist bei nicht wenigen Bürgern äußerst knapp. Zum Beispiel Vicky Pollard. Weil sie dringend Geld braucht, behauptet sie auf dem Polizeirevier, dass sie Zeugin eines Raubüberfalls war. Schließlich gilt es, 10.000 Pfund Belohnung zu kassieren. In einem anderen Fall geht es um ein junges Paar, dem ein Traumkredit vorgeschlagen wird. Doch der Bankcomputer sagt immer wieder: 'No!' Auch Bubbles De Vere sucht nach Möglichkeiten, ihre wirtschaftliche Lage zu verbessern. Erneut setzt sie ihren Astralkörper ein, um sich die Bezahlung eines Spa-Hotels ganz einfach zu sparen. Nicht aufs Geld achtet allerdings ein Feinschmecker. Im Restaurant möchte er außer Haute Cuisine auch noch Junk Food. Und zum Nachtisch wünscht er sich einen ordinären Schokoriegel. Außerdem bestellt er Trüffel, Jakobsmuscheln - und eine Tüte Kartoffelchips. Und der Premierminister? Der muss sich mal wieder mit Sebastian auseinandersetzen. Der macht seinem Chef eine furchtbare Szene als er erfährt, dass dessen Ehefrau schwanger ist.

• Mr. Mann pops into Roy's book shop.
• Bubbles DeVere has a shoking way of paying for her spa treatment.
• Andy manages to fall out of his wheelchair and into a tree.

Emily en Florence gaan naar het ballet, terwijl Dr. Lawrence Anne meeneemt naar het theater. Marjorie Dawes trakteert haar Fat Fighters op een nogal vrekkig kerstdiner en Sebastian is onthutst wanneer hij verneemt dat de vrouw van de Eerste Minister zwanger is. Lou stelt voor om Andy mee te nemen naar de kerk voor een lezing, ondanks het feit dat hij zich wil verkleden als baby Jezus. De dominee krijgt dan weer een onverwachte reactie als zijn parochianen proeven van zijn gevulde pasteitjes...
