Season 1

  • S01E01 Nephi and the Brass Plates

    • January 1, 1987

    Around 600 B.C. Jerusalem is ripe for destruction. The prophet Lehi preaches repentance and is persecuted. He and his family leave Jerusalem and are soon told by the Lord to return and obtain the brass plates containing the sacred five books of Moses. Nephi and his brothers muster their faith, obedience, and determination as they return to Jerusalem to obtain the plates from the wicked Laban.

  • S01E02 The Tree of Life

    • January 1, 1991

    The prophet Lehi had a dream that brought joy and concern for the eternal welfare of his family. The symbols of Lehi’s dream contain teachings important to us even today. The meaning behind the symbols are brought to life, from the mists of darkness to the great and spacious building. The importance of holding— and helping others grasp— the iron rod so that we can partake of the fruit of eternal life becomes clear.

  • S01E03 Journey to the Promised Land

    Lehi and his family, led by the Liahona, arrive to the shores of a great sea after traveling far from Jerusalem. Nephi, son of Lehi, is commanded by the Lord to build a ship. They practice faith and obedience to overcome every obstacle and sail to the Promised Land. Witness their gratitude as they kneel on the shore of their new home and give thanks to God for the successful journey. Teaches scriptures from 1 Nephi:16–19.

  • S01E04 Abinadi and King Noah

    • January 1, 1988

    Abinadi courageously stands before wicked King Noah and his evil priests, calling them to repentance and testifying of Christ. Though Abinadi is killed after fulfilling this mission, his words touch Alma’s heart. Alma, one of the priests, repents and soon brings many people to the waters of baptism as a missionary of the coming Christ. Will these true believers also escape persecution from King Noah? Teaches scriptures from Mosiah 11–19, 23.

  • S01E05 Alma the Younger

    • January 1, 1989

    Alma the Younger and the Sons of Mosiah rebel against their parents and work to destroy the church of Christ. In answer to their parents’ prayers, they are visited by an angel. Alma is struck as if dead and his soul suffers the torment of sin. Alma later awakes as new person, converted by the mercy of Jesus Christ. Alma and Mosiah’s sons become the greatest missionaries in the Book of Mormon. Teaches scriptures from Mosiah 26–28; and Alma 36.

  • S01E06 Ammon - Mission to the Lamanites

    Ammon, one of the sons of Mosiah, forsakes kingship to become a missionary to the Nephites’ mortal enemy, the Lamanites. Ammon shows great humility as he asks to become servant to the Lamanite king, Lamoni. Later, Ammon defends the king’s flocks against a band of robbers. His faithful example brings Ammon the opportunity to preach unto the king, bringing him and many others to humility, repentance and conversion. Teaches Mosiah 28–29; and Alma 17–19.

  • S01E07 Alma and the Zoramites

    • January 1, 1991

    Zoram and his prideful people have corrupted their religion which teaches them to boast of their righteousness and persecute the poor. Alma and Amulek fail to persuade the rich Zoramites to repent. Alma ministers to the poor believers and teaches one of the most important lessons on faith and humility. Zoram forces the believers in Antionum from their land where they finally find refuge with Lamanite converts in Jershon. Teaches scriptures from Alma 29–32.

  • S01E08 Helaman's Stripling Warriors

    • January 1, 1990

    The people of Ammon, a group of Lamanites, take an oath to never kill again. They rear their children with great faith. One day the wicked Ammoron threatens the peace. 2,000 young men, not bound by the covenant of their parents, are led by Helaman to defend their people. Despite their youth and inexperience these stripling warriors bravely fight because they trust their mothers’ promise that they will not be harmed. Teaches scriptures from Alma 24, 52–56.

  • S01E09 Samuel and the Sign

    Samuel the Lamanite preaches of the birth of Jesus Christ and the sign of His coming but wicked Nephites drive Samuel from their city. Some Nephites believe Samuel but they are threatened with death for their beliefs. Will they be killed by Giddianhi and the evil Gadianton robbers before the sign is fulfilled? Teaches from Luke 2; Helaman 13–16; and 3 Nephi 1–3.

  • S01E10 The Savior in America

    • January 1, 1989

    In the years following the sign of Jesus’ birth the Nephites grow wicked. Then a great storm and earthquakes ravage the land, followed by three days of darkness. When hope seems lost, the resurrected Savior appears in glory to the Nephites. He ministers, preaches, and calls disciples to His work. His perfect love and teachings cause the Nephites to be spiritually changed and live peacefully. Teaches from 3 Nephi 6–20, 28; and 4 Nephi 1.

  • S01E11 The Brother of Jared

    • January 1, 1990

    Mahonri, the brother of Jared, is a righteous man in wicked Babel. After the tower of Babel is destroyed and the language of the people is confused, the Lord shows Mahonri how to build barges to carry the righteous across the sea to the Promised Land. When the brother of Jared asks the Lord to touch stones to light the barges, his faith is so strong that he receives a great revelation. Teaches scriptures from Genesis 11; and Ether 1–3.

  • S01E12 Mormon and Moroni

    • January 1, 1992

    In the centuries following Jesus Christ’s visit to the American continent, the Nephite civilization grows wicked and rejects Him. The righteous man, Mormon, leads his wicked people in a great battle at Cumorah, where he and his people are killed. Before this time he entrusts the record of his people to his son Moroni. Moroni keeps his faith till the end, burying the golden plates before he, too, is killed by the wicked Lamanites. Teaches from Mormon 1–8 and Joseph Smith History 1.

  • S01E13 The Joseph Smith Story

    • January 1, 1988

    A critical operation on his leg hones the young Joseph’s courage and determination. Later, his questions about faith lead him to the pages of the Bible. Joseph, again, demonstrates his rare determination and sincerity as he takes his quest directly to God. On a beautiful spring morning in a grove near his home, Heavenly Father and Jesus hear Joseph’s humble petition for an answer to his questions about religion. Teaches from Joseph Smith History.

  • S02E01 The King is Born

    The King is Born is the classic story of the birth of Jesus. Beginning with Gabriel announcing God’s blessed plan for Mary, this video brings all the elements of this timeless story to life. Journey with Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem and witness the humble birth of our Savior together with the shepherds. The cunning plan of King Herod does not deceive the devoted wise men, but ultimately it is the Angel who intercedes to warn Joseph and Mary to flee into Egypt.   • S02E02 Jesus, The Son of God

    People often found themselves speechless when they came face-to-face with the wisdom of Jesus—from the learned rabbis in the temple who were astonished at the words of a 12-year-old Jesus, to the victory over Satan who unsuccessfully tempted the Savior even after He had grown pale with hunger from a 40-day fast. This story begins with Jesus’ early years and follows with His triumph over Satan, marking the beginning of His ministry. Deuteronomy 6, 8; Matthew 2–4; Mark 1; and Luke 2, 4.

  • S02E03 John the Baptist

    John the Baptist is a story of courage and conviction seen through the life of one of God’s greatest prophets who gave everything to prepare the way for the Lord. It begins with the blessing John’s birth was to his aged parents. John grows in strength and integrity as he stands against political and spiritual adversity to preach the coming of the Lord. Finally, John beholds and baptizes Jesus, the Lamb of God. Learn from the Bible in Matthew 3–4, 14; Mark 1, 6; Luke 1, 3–4; and John 1, 5.

  • S02E04 Built Upon the Rock

    Jesus is asked to judge an inheritance dispute, but instead He uses this conflict to affirm the eternal ideals of His Beatitudes taught in the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus teaches the wronged brother to forgive and love his brother. All who follow Jesus must learn that what we own has little to do with who we are. Important ideals of stewardship and preparedness are emphasized through the parable of the House Built on Rock. Learn from Matthew 5–7; and Luke 6, 12. ~ Parable of the Wise and Foolish Men

  • S02E05 The Miracles of Jesus

    The Miracles of Jesus is an exciting panorama of Jesus’ most touching miracles. Healing the sick and afflicted, raising Jairus’ dead daughter, casting out demons and calming the storm are attributed to the principle of faith. “All things are possible to those who believe,” Jesus tells us. The stories of Christ’s miracles increase our faith and teach character building virtues such as love, mercy and service. Learn from Matthew 8–9, 11–12, 14, 17; Mark 2–6; Luke 5–8; and John 6, 11.

  • S02E06 Bread From Heaven

    Jonas, a street urchin, is desperate for bread. Yet, when he finds some, knife-wielding thugs steal it. Then one day Jonas hears that Jesus, the miracle worker, is nearby. While skeptical, Jonas decides to see this man for himself—and what he discovers convinces him that the bread Jesus offers will satisfy one’s hunger forever. This delightful story of the feeding of the 5,000 challenges us to consider afresh the One who is the Bread of Life. Isaiah 55; Matthew 14; Mark 6; Luke 9; John 6, 21.

  • S02E07 Lord, I Believe

    Lord, I Believe is a collection of three stories where Jesus teaches His disciples the power of faith. First, a kind Roman centurion pleads for his dying servant. The servant is healed because he asked in faith with nothing doubting. Saying “weep not,” Jesus raises the son of the poor widow of Nain. Lastly, a man with weak faith begs the Master to make his son whole, as Jesus answers, “all things are possible to him that believeth.” Matthew 8–10, 17, 19, 21; Mark 9, 11; and Luke 7, 18

  • S02E08 The Good Samaritan

    The Good Samaritan tells the most touching parable that Jesus ever taught. The story begins with the lawyer’s trick question, “What is the greatest commandment?” As Jesus answers with the story of the robbers, the Rabbi, the Levite and the wounded traveler becomes real. Imagine the traveler’s emotion as his own countrymen pass by while his enemy, a Samaritan, stops to help him. Jesus teaches us to love and serve one another no matter how we differ.   • S02E09 The Lost is Found

    Those who recognize their own sins often rejoice that Jesus would want to help anyone so lost. Three such sinners come to Jesus in need of hope, healing and forgiveness. Weaving together many New Testament stories, this tale shows how Jesus generously extends His mercy to each sinner and lovingly brings the repentant back to the fold.   • S02E10 The Prodigal Son

    The Prodigal Son is a parable of a wayward son reunited with his father and family after having squandered all his inheritance through wasteful and idolatrous living. Learn of God’s encompassing love for those who humbly repent. The example of the father’s joy for the return of his repentant young son is contrasted against the trust and rewards kept for those who do not waste that which God entrusts to them.   • S02E11 The Parables of Jesus

    Jesus often taught His followers using stories called parables. The parables of The Talents, The Rich Man and Lazarus, and The Two Sons, are presented together to reinforce important principles. They teach us how to be good stewards of the things that we have been given. These timeless truths help us focus on our faith in God and His power to help us live our lives in accordance with His teachings.   • S02E12 Treasures in Heaven

    Treasures in Heaven is a wonderful story of contrast between two men who seek to follow Jesus. The young rich man asks how to gain eternal life and leaves saddened because he won’t forsake worldly wealth; while Zacchaeus, the publican, gives half of his wealth to the poor and restores four-fold anything wrongly taken, to follow Jesus and receive salvation. Experience the stories from Matthew 19; Mark 10; and Luke 18–19.

Season 3

  • S03E01 The Righteous Judge

    The Righteous Judge recreates the events that surround Jesus in teaching the principles of love, forgiveness and righteous judgment. In the story of the adulteress Jesus confronts the Pharisees with the simple phrase, “let him without sin cast the first stone,” and thereby teaches us of God’s immense mercy and grace. Caiaphas, who unrighteously judges a blind man sinful, is contrasted against the gratitude of the blind man when Jesus freely heals him. Learn from John 7–9.

  • S03E02 Forgive Us Our Debts

    Forgive Us Our Debts combines a classic parable with the teachings of Jesus to His disciples. Jesus teaches that forgiveness comes from God as He instructs Peter to catch a fish that contains a coin to pay Peter's debt. Jesus also teaches about a man who is forgiven by his king of an enormous debt. Yet, the forgiven man leaves and immediately casts a man, who owes him almost nothing, into prison. The king then rescinds his forgiveness. To receive forgiveness we must also forgive. Learn from Matthew 17–18: Parable of the Foolish Servant

  • S03E03 Lazarus Lives

    Mortals' greatest fear is the fear of death. Lazarus Lives gives assurance that Jesus has all power over death. Jesus mourns Lazarus' death and His friends witness the deep love He has for His friends. Martha and Mary’s tears of sorrow change to joy when their brother Lazarus’ life is restored and they understand the Savior's promise of eternal life to all who believe in Jesus.   • S03E04 The Kingdom of Heaven

    The Kingdom of Heaven is a series of short stories called parables. As Jesus teaches the people each parable, some begin to understand what the “Kingdom of Heaven” is like. Some have “ears that will not hear” and are not willing to become followers of the Savior. At the Second Coming they will not be counted as His own. Teaches parables from Matthew 13, 25: Parable of the Sower and the Seed Parable of the Pearl Parable of the Wheat and the Tares Parable of the Ten Maidens

  • S03E05 Signs of the Times

    Jesus uses the parables of the King’s Wedding Feast and the Thief in the Night to teach His disciples to have to repent and to be prepared for the day He comes again. Jesus teaches His disciples to patiently watch for the signs of His Second Coming. You’ll see how the disciples misunderstood the meaning of His parables. Even with these insights, will we also misunderstand the signs of His coming today?   • S03E06 The Messiah Comes!

    In His final days, Jesus cleanses the Temple, but He cannot cleanse the hearts of the people. Even His disciples struggle to understand Him and His mission. Following Jesus’ death, He visits His disciples on the road to Emmaus. Afterwards they finally gain understanding: Jesus delivers all from the bondage of sin and death, giving hope of eternal life through His atonement.   • S03E07 Worthy is the Lamb

    Experience the Passion of Christ. Witness the fulfillment of ancient prophecies. Pray with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Not my will, but thy will be done.” Feel the betrayal of Judas’ kiss. Endure the trial and crucifixion as Jesus willingly submits. Rejoice in the knowledge that Jesus’ death and resurrection provides pardon for our sins. Psalms 22, 41; Isaiah 50, 53; Zechariah 9, 11–12; Matthew 26–27; Luke 18, 22–23

  • S03E08 He is Risen

    He is Risen is the story of the greatest miracle of all, the resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Sorrow and despair at the Lord’s crucifixion become complete joy and love as the disciples behold their resurrected Master three days later. The events of the real story of Easter teach of the atonement and resurrection, providing hope to Christians around the world. Reflect on the Easter miracle from Matthew 27–28; Mark 15–16; Luke 23–24; John 19–21; and Acts 1.

  • S03E09 The Greatest is the Least

    In the years following Jesus' resurrection, the disciples learn to practice His teachings. While working at the salt mine, James witnesses two fellow prisoners fighting to be number one. He remembers being with Jesus as He embraced the children and humbly kneeled to wash the disciples’ feet. Through this we learn that the way to greatness in His kingdom is not found in how many serve you, but in how many you serve. Matthew 18, 20; Mark 9–10; Luke 9; John 4, 13; and Acts 12.

  • S03E10 The Lord's Prayer

    Jesus taught His disciples the power of prayer through parables and example. After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension into Heaven, Peter is arrested and cast into a Roman prison. As Herod plots Peter’s death, the believers gather together and follow the example that Jesus taught. Through faith and prayer, Peter’s chains are broken and the Angel of the Lord opens the prison gates.   • S03E11 Saul of Tarsus

    Saul of Tarsus is one of the most dramatic stories of repentance found in the Bible. Rabbi Gamaliel is unable to convince his friend Saul, the arch-enemy and persecutor of Christians, to mend his ways. Saul is changed forever when the resurrected Lord miraculously appears to him on the Road to Damascus. Saul becomes reborn as Paul, one of the greatest missionaries and apostles ever for Jesus Christ’s gospel. Relive the story of Stephen and Saul/Paul from Acts 6–9, 13–28.

  • S03E12 The Ministry of Paul

    The Ministry of Paul is a dramatic story of adventure, faith and endurance. From his encounter with King Agrippa to his terrifying shipwreck, Paul’s powerful preaching and example bring amazement and conversion as persecution is answered, again and again, with the gospel of love. Season 4

  • S04E01 Abraham and Isaac

    Abraham and Sarai are promised a son in their old age by the Lord. They cherish their miracle child, Isaac. When God commands Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice to Him, Abraham must make the most difficult decision of his life. This story is one of the greatest tests of obedience, faith and trust in God found anywhere in the Bible. Abraham passes the test and renews faith in God’s promise that he will become the father of many nations. Learn scripture from Genesis 15–17, 21–22.

  • S04E02 Joseph in Egypt

    Joseph, a young Hebrew boy, is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to the land of Egypt. He does not forget the lessons about God that his father Jacob taught him. When cast into prison for a crime he did not commit, Joseph interprets the dreams of his cell mates and earns the respect of all he meets. Joseph is called upon to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams and, because of his integrity and insight, is granted a position of power in Pharaoh’s court. Learn the Bible from Genesis 37, 39–41.

  • S04E03 Joseph's Reunion

    The drought had stripped Canaan bare of crops, yet Egypt had vast storehouses of food. Jacob knew that unless he acted soon, his family would starve. He sent ten of his sons to Pharaoh to buy provisions. They never imagined that there they would find not only food, but the brother they had long ago betrayed and given up for dead.   • S04E04 Moses

    Except for a mother’s desperate plan, the strong will of an Egyptian princess, and the mighty hand of God, Israel’s most honored leader may never have seen his first birthday. This story recounts the early years of Moses’ life, from his dreary days of tending sheep in the Midian desert to his privileged youth in Pharaoh’s household.   • S04E05 Ruth

    When the Israelite Naomi and her two Gentile daughters-in-law are left as widows in a foreign land, Naomi begs them to care for themselves by returning to their own people.   • S04E07 David and Goliath

    One of the most famous stories in the Bible comes to life in this incredible tale of courage, faith and daring. David, a young shepherd boy who likes poetry and music, seems an unlikely candidate to save his nation from ruin. But when nine-foot Goliath defies Israel and blasphemes God, young David leaps into action, earning his place as one of the greatest heroes in the Bible.   • S04E08 Solomon

    It was his first major test as king. The eyes of the nation were watching nervously to see if this young leader could measure up to the high standards set by his beloved father, King David. The dilemma was two mothers both laying claim to one baby. Lives depended on Solomon’s excruciating decision. What he decided raised the bar of what it means to judge righteously. This emotional story escorts viewers into the very throne room of King Solomon, one of the wisest men who ever lived. Learn from 2 Samuel 12; 1 Kings 1–7, 11.

  • S04E09 Elijah

    The crowd was still and hushed as the words of the great prophet Elijah thundered down from Mount Carmel: “How long will you go back and forth between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him! If Baal be god, then follow him and be done with it!” From Elijah’s elusion of capture at the hands of King Ahab, to raising the dead son of the widow of Zarephath, to a showdown with the wicked priests of Baal.   • S04E10 Elisha

    As a fiery chariot from heaven took away the great prophet, Elijah, his mantle fell upon his frightened protégé, Elisha. From then on, Elisha would be God’s mouthpiece. This story spotlights Elisha’s ministry of miracles, from healing a soldier’s disease to restoring life to a young boy. Compare Naaman’s trust of Elisha, whose obedience resulted in being healed of leprosy, with Gehazi, who was cursed for seeking riches while doing God’s work.   • S04E11 Daniel

    Babylonian forces invade Jerusalem and carry away many of the city’s finest young people, including Daniel and his three young friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. In captivity, the youths are in the king’s service and outperform all their rivals— pleasing the king and frustrating their enemies. When Darius, the new king, makes Daniel his first president, Daniel’s enemies plan a trap to have him killed.   • S04E12 Esther

    Would you risk your life to save the lives of your countrymen? That was the deadly dilemma confronting the young Queen Esther, one of the Bible’s most courageous women.   • S09E01 Prophecy

    Some of the most exciting scriptures to Latter-day Saints are those that reveal events about the future.
