When Lou goes to a courthouse to look into a report of inappropriate behavior by a senior judge, he angers the judge by trying to leave in the middle of a trial and is put in jail. Upset by this treatment, he gets the newspaper staff to further investigate the judge's erratic behavior.

Ein Fall von Körperverletzung mit Todesfolge, der vor Gericht verhandelt wird, bringt Lou auf das Verhalten des Richters Rushman, der wegen seiner Senilität schon von sich reden macht. Als es zu einer drastischen Konfrontation zwischen einem seiner Redakteure und dem Richter kommt, lässt er nichts unversucht um die mentale Kompetenz des Mannes zu hinterfragen.
