Xu Yan, a popular broadcaster, and Shen Haoming, an urban elite, are an enviable couple. Yet, due to their different backgrounds, they struggle to fit into each other's social circles. Xu Yan, with her glamorous hosting career and a "polished" personal history, marries Shen Haoming, who is well aware of and in control of the situation. When conflicts arise, Xu Yan breaks free from Shen Haoming's control and leaves without looking back. Shen Haoming, however, realizes he has fallen deeply in love and is determined to win Xu Yan back. Through various trials, the two eventually shed their pretenses, grow closer, gain insights into each other's true selves, and achieve self - realization.
Entravée par son mari et les différences sociales qui les éloignent peu à peu l'un de l'autre, Xu Yan décide d'échapper au contrôle de Shen Haoming et de le quitter. Prenant conscient de ses sentiments pour elle, ce dernier est déterminé à gagner le cœur de Yan – pour de bon cette fois.
