IT manager and single Dad Brad lives in a rambling, cluttered home with his three teenage kids and their dog Jesse. There’s a lot of love and not a lot of order as the kids openly admit to being lazy around the house.
Carley (34) is a workaholic, who lives above the 24-hour pie shop she runs with her two sisters. She has no separation between her work and home life: she shares her kitchen with work mates, allows them use of her lounge room as a crash pad and runs a chaotic work office in her apartment.
Sue and Steve Morris have six kids. You’d think with such an army of helpers there might be order in this household but basically, there’s no General controlling the troops. As a result, their beautiful house is in complete disarray.
Kate, Camilla, Rachel and Julie are 20-something students sharing a rambling terrace in Glebe. They love their house but are very aware it has the sparsely furnished, unkempt look of student digs. Shannon’s challenge is to turn their crash pad rental into a clean, comfortable home (on a student’s budget!).
Design teacher Shae rents a 2 bedroom apartment in Bondi. Her boyfriend Greg (a chef and neat freak) stays over most nights. Shae, (definitely not a neat freak) lives in a fairly disorganised state and has several issues which prevent her relaxing and unwinding in her own home.
Valerie and partner Carrington, live in Ryde with their 5 year old son Billy and their dog Scruffy (the scratcher). Billy has high functioning autism and an acute sensitivity to sound. Soundproofing is a top priority but how do you manage it on a limited budget?
