Matlock und Leanne machen Urlaub in einem Hotel. Doch aus dem langersehnten Ferienaufenthalt entwickelt sich bald ein neuer Fall für den Anwalt. Der Geschäftsführer des Hotels und eine ehemalige Schulfreundin von Leanne werden ermordet. Unter Verdacht steht ein arbeitsloser, junger Mann, der noch dazu der Sohn von Matlocks altem Feind Billy Lewis ist.

Matlock and Leanne head to the beach where Leanne reunites with three good friends from college, and Matlock reunites with someone from his past who just happens to be the brother of the woman whose heart Matlock 'broke' years earlier.
