The original BBC pilot episode that was never broadcast. It was used as a demo internally to assist commissioning of the first series. It follows the storyline of The Mammy. It is available on the Series One DVD release. While this episode and The Mammy are the same, there are some differences, including the dialogue and the inclusion of Sharon McGoogan (played by Marion O'Dwyer) in the place of Betty Brown, who is absent from this episode. Amanda Woods, who plays Betty, is credited as Baghdad Barbie (a character from the original series) even though she doesn't actually appear in this episode.
Agnes Brown has finally been given permission to stage her own Nativity play and is determined to put on the greatest show on Earth. The only thing standing in her way now is local priest Father Damien, who is insisting that Agnes makes some last-minute changes to her rather unusual script. Will Agnes ever get to play the Virgin Mary?
Agnes Brown is her usual meddling self in the first ever live broadcast of Mrs Brown's Boys. When Agnes discovers that Mark and Betty are having bedroom problems, she takes it upon herself to help. Meanwhile, as Dermot's business grows, he has a difficult decision to make about his best friend Buster.
It's Christmas in Finglas once again, and this year Cathy has a new boyfriend, Boris. A last-minute change of plans leaves Agnes babysitting the widower's twins while he and Cathy head to Foley's for a quiet, romantic drink. Not everyone is convinced he's right for Cathy, and there are even suspicions that he might be a vampire. But it's not Boris that Agnes is worried about; she has her own concerns over his creepy twins.
It's just weeks to go to Christmas in the Brown house. The turkey is getting plucked and Grandad is getting stuffed (or is that the other way around). Rory Brown is distraught because his partner Dino has tried to drown him, Mark and Betty do their best to keep everybody calm, while nobody is sure what to do about Winnie's big box or Granddad‘s little hamster.
Lotto fever has hit Foley’s bar, and it doesn’t take long before rumours swirl around Finglas that Agnes is the jackpot winner. Meanwhile, a DNA test and the surprise return visit of Cathy’s childhood friend leaves Agnes with some serious questions to answer about her past. Guest-starring Debra Stephenson.
Dermot and Maria decide to renew their wedding vows, forcing Agnes to organise the ceremony alongside arch-nemesis Hillary. Will she be able to cope with Hillary’s high-society demands? Meanwhile, Fathers Damien and Trevor go on a mountain pilgrimage that goes wrong. Will they make it back in time to officiate at the ceremony? Or at all?
