    The tunnel to Whittier is called the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel or just the Whittier tunnel. The tunnel is the second longest highway tunnel in North America and it goes under Maynard Mountain 13,300 ft (4,100 m). The tunnel is 2.5 miles long and it is one lane. Sharing both direction with a railroad as well.

And we have spent the last 4 months working hard on the property to get repairs and projects done before winter. Summer is a busy time in Alaska, so as soon as the snow starts to melt we got to work on our abandoned homestead. We are finishing our new garage to replace the one that was crushed by the snow. Repairing the cabin that caught on fire last summer. Demolishing an old log cabin. Building roads. Working on ATV's and a lot more. 4 months worth of footage from our first full summer at the off grid cabin.

    Last year we bought an off grid Alaskan homestead that was full of abandoned tools and equipment. And soon after, one of the buildings caught fire and almost burned to the ground. We have spent the last year repairing the electrical system, building an all season ATV trail into the property and replacing a collapsed garage and finally its time to build that burned cabin into a proper bunk house. But winter is right around the corner so its a race to get the project done before the extreme snow and cold sets in.

    I have been saving cardboard boxes for over a year now and we used them to build a ENORMOUS cardboard castle. This cardboard fort is made from 90 lbs of cardboard and 9 rolls of duct tape. Its 3 stories tall and covers a little less than 200 sq feet. This was an awesome cardboard fort challenge And my boys are going bonkers playing and camping in their cardboard fort.

Well instead we ending up catching smallmouth bass on CARP GEAR??? fake plastic corn and jello and bread crumb. Crazy. But the family had a great time and I'll be up to try for carp again.

We then flew to Salt Lake City Utah where we stayed with family and went catfishing in Murray Utah and carp fishing in Yuba Lake Utah. We also went to Snowbird Ski Resort in Park City Utah. We only had a few days before heading to Alaska for the rest of our trip.

We left off visiting family in Alaska and flew to Washington where we drove to Vancouver British Columbia. In Vancouver we rented bikes, ate great food, explored, went on a flight seeing trip out of Squamish BC and checked out the Capilano Suspension Bridge before heading east to Chiliwack Lake Provential Park to camp and fish for giant sturgeon.

    The Outdoor Boys spent 5 weeks touring North America and Asia. This is Part 12 of our travel log. We are camping in Chilliwack lake provincial park and we meet up with Frasier River Sturgeon Fishing Guide Steve Kaye to catch massive giant white sturgeon. After two days of epic fishing on the Frasier River we break camp and travel west to meet the rest of the family in Vancouver and then we travel to Seattle Washington and Birch Bay where we explore the tide pools and pick blackberries. Finally about 5 weeks on the road we returned home.

    Help us fight Ninja discrimination! With many concealed weapons laws targeting people who self identify as ninjas we built this awesome open carry ninja throwing star, shuriken, throwing knife, throwing axe, throwing spike deployment system so that ninja openly express themselves as ninjas.

  • S2018E62 NASCAR Race - Behind the Scene - Pit & Garage Tour at Richmond!!!

    We went to our first NASCAR race at the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Virginia and we had a ball. We went behind the scenes with special permission from NASCAR and toured the garages and pits and got up close to the race teams. We also sampled the events and pre race celebrations. We had a great time and Tommy LOVED IT!

    Can I restore an axe in just 1 hour? I am doing the 1 hour axe restoration challenge. Restoring axes doesn't have to be a massive deal. I want to know if I can clean up your old axes and hatches with hand tools and a few minutes of work.

    I am busting out the forge again and this time I am making a 7 foot boar spear with a teak handle from the USS Missouri restoration. It turned out amazing!

  • S2018E66 Restoring a Folding Bicycle! Cleaning, repairing, painting & customizing my bike

    I am restoring a rusty old folding bike that my wife and I bought for a trip to Japan. I stripped down my bicycle, repaired the bike, fixed it, removed the rust, painted it and customized it.
