Two sisters begin very different married lives, but both soon discover how difficult it can be to find respect and acceptance in a new home. Fareesa is pregnant and unwell, yet she continues carrying the burden of household responsibilities while her husband Sajad and mother-in-law Fareeda pressure her over their desire for a son. As her health begins to suffer, her struggles inside the family become increasingly difficult to ignore. Meanwhile, Rumaisa shares a loving relationship with Sharjeel, but his mother Shahjahan Begum refuses to accept her and repeatedly makes her feel unwelcome. As both sisters try to protect their marriages and their dignity, the first cracks begin to appear in the lives they hoped marriage would bring.
