Rollergator, THINGS, Guns of El Chupacabra... These are the movies RiffTrax would have you believe are the very worst ever made. We at BritTrax say: That's adorable. Now let us introduce you to a little thing called High Treason. A pioneering early science fiction film about a world on the brink of war, where a sinister cabal of corporate conspirators plots to set the great European and American powers against each other, and the only chance for peace seems to be the assassination of a president. Beautiful model work, some spectacular scenes of carnage, a retro-futuristic vision of the future where gyrocopter flying steampunk flapper girls in foil hats are conscripted to fight. Sounds good, doesn’t it? It isn’t and it doesn’t. High Treason is so early a talkie it predates the invention of acting by an entire year. It’s so British it scares even Ian and Matthew, and some of the actors in it seem to be speaking to another human being for the first time in their lives.
