Unoriginal Sin

Ein renommierter Verlag möchte Carries Kolumnen gesammelt als Buch herausbringen. Carrie müsste in einem Vorwort lediglich beurteilen, ob sie die Beziehung zwischen Mann und Frau grundsätzlich optimistisch oder pessimistisch bewertet. Eine Antwort auf diese Frage hofft sie, bei einem Selbsthilfe-Guru zu finden. Inzwischen sucht Miranda eine Taufpatin für ihr Kind. Sie entscheidet sich für Carrie. Dies macht Charlotte wütend, zumal Carrie recht verantwortungslos an die Sache herangeht.

Samantha announces that she's back with Richard, who buys her an outrageously big diamond ring as a proof of his sorrow and commitment. Still, Samantha has doubts about his regeneration and can't seem to get over the image of him being intimate with another woman. Meanwhile, Carrie avoids her editor by all means thinking she's going to get fired, but turns out he just wanted to tell her she's been offered a book deal. Hesitant, Carrie is asked to write an introduction and answer the question: "is there hope for single women?". To help her figure out the answer, Charlotte takes her to a positivism course, where she learns that although seemingly a positivist, Charlotte is a big negativist. More than that, she's got a broken heart. And Miranda has to handle a request she can't deny: Steve asks Brady to be baptized. He even brings in his mother for the ceremony, and Miranda asks Carrie to be the baby's godmother.

Charlotte décide de s'inscrire à une réunion «d'aide» pour se sentir mieux dans sa peau...

Miranda kiborul, amikor Steve komolyan azt gondolja, hogy gyermeküket azért kell megkeresztelni, hogy ne jusson a Pokolra. Carrie úgy érzi, hogy az aktuális szerelmi szélcsendben nem tudna már érdekes dolgokat írni heti rovatába. Állása elvesztésétől fél, ám egy kiadó felkéri írásai könyvvé szerkesztésére. A készséges kiadó előszót kér a könyvhöz és olyan kérdéseket tesznek fel Carrie-nek, amin maga sem gondolkodott már régóta: ő végül is optimista, vagy pesszimista? Charlotte egy önsegélyező csoport gyűléseire jár. Elrángatja magával Carrie-t is a következő alkalomra, ahol Carrie, mint a legerősebb önbizalmú ember, kilóg a sorból és megvédi barátnőjét a felesleges megaláztatástól. Miranda a családi béke érdekében elfogadja a keresztelő szükségességét. Felkéri Carrie-t keresztanyának, aki vonakodva fogadja el a megtiszteltetést. A szertartáson Carrie elérzékenyül, amint látja barátnője boldogságát. Könyvét pedig Charlotte-nak, az örök naív optimistának szeretné dedikálni...

Miranda e Steve discutono se il bambino deve essere battezzato, e alla fine Miranda cede. Carrie riceve due importanti offerte: trasformare la sua rubrica in un libro e fare da madrina al piccolo Brady. Charlotte cerca di ritrovare fiducia nell'amore mentre Samantha torna con Richard, nonostante il parere contrario delle amiche.

En el desayuno que celebran todas las semanas, Samantha les dice a las chicas que ha vuelto con Richard. A las amigas de Samantha la noticia las deja en estado de shock. Miranda también se queda de piedra cuando Steve le dice que quiere bautizar al pequeño Brady para que no vaya al infierno.

Que mal tem acreditar? Carrie recebe notícias de carreira surpreendentes, que a levam a avaliar o seu trabalho. Samantha continua a debater-se com as verdadeiras intenções de Richard.
