Rocky und Cece gehen zum Vortanzen für 'Shake It Up', der lokalen populären Tanzshow, um ihrem Traum, Tänzerinnen zu werden, näher zu kommen. Trotz der Hänseleien der Konkurrenten Gunther und Tinka und ihrer Angst, vor der Kamera und vor älteren Kindern zu tanzen, macht Rocky mit und kommt weiter. Nachdem die siegessichere Cece während des Castings erstarrt und ausscheiden muss, beschließt sie, Rocky bei ihrem neuen Abenteuer zu unterstützen. Doch Rocky zwingt sie, mit ihr zusammen während der Show zu tanzen, damit das verloren geglaubte Vertrauen zurückkehrt.
Best friends CeCe and Rocky audition for the show, "Shake it Up Chicago". Unfortunately, CeCe did not get it because she froze in the middle of her audition (she usually pictures everyone else naked that is why she is never nervous). Rocky did well and got in. Rocky did not want to go to the show because CeCe was not on it. CeCe forces Rocky to go to the show. On Rocky's first show, she brought CeCe and handcuffed each other, and they ended up dancing together. The host thought that they have the "it" factor so, CeCe got in as well. In the end, the girls get $40 each but only $2 was left for them because they had to pay for new handcuffs, thrift store dance clothes, and transportation.

Rocky all'inizio ha paura quindi Cece la spinge sul palco ed appena è lì sopra il panico la abbandona e comincia a ballare benissimo e viene accettata,Cece,in panico non muove un dito e viene scartata. Rocky non vuole fare lo show senza di lei e così si lega a Cece con delle manette e la fa ballare insieme a lei allo show. Il conduttore nota il talento di entrambe e le inserisce nello show!
Nejlepší kamarádky CeCe a Rocky touží po vlastních telefonech a tak když dostanou od svého spolužáka pozvánku na konkurz do jednoho nejsledovanějších tanečních pořadů v zemi, neváhají ani minutu a vydají se na konkurz. Rocky je nervózní a potřebuje CeCenu podporu, ovšem největší podporu bude potřebovat právě CeCe poté, co zjistí, že byla vybrána pouze Rocky. Ta nyní vymýšlí plán, jak před kamery dostat obě.
