二十世纪九十年代初，北方小镇青梧上住着家庭模式各不相同的两家人，齐爱华与霍青莲性格迥异但彼此包容；曹东方在妻子去世后与爸爸曹本顺两个男人一起撑起家，日子艰难但乐在其中。因两个家庭在同一天诞下孩子齐时、曹信，两家人凑成一个“好”字。伴随着孩子们的成长，属于他们的故事缓缓拉开帷幕，孩子们经历着关于亲情、友情和爱情的考验，而大人们也要面对关于事业、婚姻与家庭的难题。尽管生活让人跌跌撞撞，但所有人都努力地在平凡的生活中寻找属于自己不平凡的幸福。
