Hiroshi awakens in his bed, but realizes what had happened was real when both Isuzu and Nemuru are absent from school. Kaname, concerned over Isuzu's continued absence, contacts Hiroshi and tells him her theory that the Jōga wolves were sentient and could assume human shape. She leaves to conduct further research, but is captured by the Vigilance Committee. Imprisoned, she encounters the girl who Issei kissed. The girl, believing Kaname was like her, tells her that Issei had been executed for breaking the law and that she had become something other than human after he had kissed her.

殺人鬼の正体が眠だったことをまだ信じられない博士。そんな折、かなめから都市伝説調査の途中報告を受ける。香織の家にマナを迎えに行った帰り、博士は偶然出会った賢木から嫦娥町の正体不明の殺人集団の話を聞く。

Hiroshi se despierta en su cama, pero se da cuenta de que lo que había sucedido era real cuando tanto Isuzu como Nemuru están ausentes de la escuela. Kaname, preocupado por la continua ausencia de Isuzu, contacta a Hiroshi y le cuenta su teoría de que los lobos Jōga eran sensibles y podían asumir forma humana. Ella se va para realizar más investigaciones, pero es capturada por el Comité de Vigilancia. Encarcelada, se encuentra con la chica a la que besó Issei. La niña, creyendo que Kaname era como ella, le dice que Issei había sido ejecutada por violar la ley y que ella se había convertido en algo más que humana después de que él la besara.
