Dana pózuje pro obraz abstraktní feministické malířky a z těchto důvodů svolí i k pózování pro akt. Autorka se ovšem rozhodne o realismus, což se všichni dozví až na aukci nového díla. Carol se, i přes Frankův odpor, snaží obraz za každou cenu koupit a finančnímu zruinování rodiny zabrání jen to, že autorka svůj výtvor zničí.
