    Rich Koz as "Svengoolie" and Morton Downey Jr host a "Munsters" marathon between 9:00 am. until 6:00 pm on WCIU-TV Channel 26 Chicago, Illinois. This was the return of Svengoolie (formerly Son of Svengoolie) before the return of his weekly show.

    Originally released in Japan as "The Return of Godzilla" in 1984, this is the heavily re-edited, re-titled "Godzilla 1985". Adding in new footage of Raymond Burr, this 16th Godzilla film ignores all previous sequels and serves as a direct follow-up to the 1956 "Godzilla King of the Monsters", which also featured scenes with Burr edited into 1954's "Godzilla". This film restores the darker tone of the original, as we witness the nuclear destruction of giant lizard terrorizing Japan.

The film's Deltatron special effects footage is taken from the 1934 German sci-fi film GOLD.

    'Hell' is the name of the hero of the story. He's a prisoner of the women who now run the USA after a nuclear/biological war. Results of the war are that mutants have evolved, and the human race is in danger of extinction due to infertility. Hell is given the task of helping in the rescue of a group of fertile women from the harem of the mutant leader (resembling a frog). Hell cannot escape since he has a bomb attached to his private parts which will detonate if he strays more than a few hundred yards from his guard.

Martin vows to use existing technology to destroy them.

    Martians fear their children have become lazy and joyless due to their newfound obsession with Earth TV shows. After ancient Martian leader Chochem suggests that the children of Mars need more fun—including their own Santa Claus—supreme leader Lord Kimar assembles an expedition to Earth. Once there, they kidnap two children who lead them to the North Pole, then capture the real Santa Claus, taking all three back to Mars in an attempt to bring the Martian children happiness.

    Tonight on MeTV- we offer for your approval what might have been director/producer Dan Curtis’ version of “The Twilight Zone”- in an anthology of three stories- much like his “Trilogy of Terror”- that range from time-travelling sentimentality to frightening horror- in tales that come alive in the “Dead of Night”! This 1977 made-for-TV film is, much like “Trilogy of Terror”, another collaboration of Curtis and Richard Matheson- who either wrote or adapted each story. Curtis had originally done a one-episode pilot for a “Dead of Night” series back in the late 60s that never got picked up- and this film, along with “Trilogy”, was his last attempt to sell a “Dead of Night” series.

    It’s time for us to tag in the Sven Squad- as Nostalgiaferatoo, Gwengoolie, and the aforementioned Imp bring us a horror comedy- with the likes of Harvey Corman, Robert Picardo and more-in “Munchies”-a film often called Roger Corman’s version of “Gremlins”! It begins with archeologist Simon Watterman discovering a creature in a cave in Peru. He brings it back to the US, but his evil twin brother ( it’s Harvey Corman in a dual role) kidnaps the little creature- but when his kidnappers harm it, it turns vicious- and Simon’s son must try to destroy it using one of the snack-making machines in the evil twin’s factory. That’s a bad idea, because as the machine chops up the nasty thing- it multiplies into MORE of them! They discover the perfect way to create more Munchies- not only that, but the little creeps develop an attraction to -women! Gwengoolie better look out- as she and Nosty and Imp get to work to provide an assortment of fun to snack on!

The Sven Squad has their own take on the proceedings, and more- guaranteeing a fun time!

The stories include the tale of a woman in financial need who gets involved with a mysterious hybrid creature; a son who discovers his father is a vampire, being pursued by vampire-killers, led by Donald Pleasance; and a movie director who finds the location he is scouting for his next picture is frighteningly more of a real horror than he bargained for. Plus, there are several music performances at the club- not to mention Gwengoolie leading her own musical number. There’s a lot more fun from our Sven Squad who are happy to make you a part of the club!
