    Derek Leddie is taking a year off work after selling his highly successful market research company, The Leading Edge (annual turnover $30 million). His journey takes him from his beautiful harbourside apartment in Sydney, where he lives with his wife and young son, undercover to Newcastle, two hours north of Sydney. In the last 20 years Newcastle, the second largest city in NSW, has undergone major social upheaval due to the decline of the mining industry in the Hunter region. As well as dealing with issues of unemployment, homelessness and poverty, the area has had an influx of refugees - many who are struggling to find employment in a new and foreign country. In Newcastle, Derek meets and works at Penola House, a centre run by two energetic and charismatic nuns, Sister Betty and Sister Diana. The centre provides a wide range of services to refugees.

    Naomi’s episode synopsis Naomi lives in Sydney Naomi has worked hard for her achievements and believes that success is the reward for hard work She keeps tight control over every aspect of her business. From her red car to her red office and her many red outfits, she lives her brand She leaves all this behind when she goes undercover to the Gold Coast While for many the Gold Coast is known as the perfect holiday destination, Naomi doesn't have to look far to see there are plenty of people in need in this south-eastern corner of Queensland The 139 Club is a homeless centre where Naomi is put to work cooking meals She meets and connects with Judy, ill with cancer, whose life was put back on track by the centre and now works there as a volunteer Through the local newspaper Naomi discovers Surfing for the Disabled, which gives people with a range of disabilities the opportunity to enjoy the experience of surfing She is deeply affected by the Children's Cancer Support Service, where she bonds with four-year-old Madison and her family For someone who believes in the power of experience, Naomi wrestles with how she can make a lasting difference in people's lives

    Danny Wallis is the founder of DWS Advanced Business Solutions, a publicly listed IT company employing more than 600 people across Australia. It has an annual turnover or more than $100 million while Danny's personal fortune is estimated to be $150 million. He is a successful businessman who is used to setting his own agenda and living by his own rules. With little to tie him down, he is able to indulge his passion for sport, travel, fast cars and a busy social life. His daily life is worlds apart from the undercover experience he takes on in Wollongong, NSW. At the Police Community Youth Club, Danny meets Jim Clabour who spends his time volunteering and helping local youth learn how to box. Jim also runs the local amputee association, having lost his own leg from the knee down in an industrial accident.
