Season 1

  • S01E01 The Two Roses

    In this first episode, the origins of the wars are explained. The reign of the weak Henry VI, characterised by corruption of many nobles and advisors, leading to the popular rebellion led by Jack Cade in 1450. The subsequent mental illness of King Henry, and the appointment of Richard of York as Lord Protector in 1454, is also covered.

  • S01E02 The Rose of Rouen

    The protectorate of Richard, and the role of the Queen, Margaret of Anjou, are covered. The House of York continues it's battle for the throne for Richard, leading to the Battle of Wakefield in 1460. Richard's son, Edward, Duke of York, becomes King Edward on 4th March, 1461

  • S01E03 The King Maker

    The reign of Edward continues, as the Lancastrians suffer defeats in numerous battles. Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick, colludes with the King's younger brother, George, Duke of Clarence to undermine Edward. Henry VI is restored to the throne in the readeption of 1470. His reign is short-lived; after the Battle of Tewkesbury, Edward IV again assumes the reign.

  • S01E04 One Perfect Rose

    A relative period of peace follows the events of 1471, and Edward IV (York) reigns until his sudden death in 1483. The disappearance of the young Dukes in the tower. Richard III reclaims the throne.
