Derweil ermutigt Toby den Präsidenten dazu, Leos umstrittener Schwester Josephine einen wichtigen Posten im nationalen Bildungsapparat zu geben. Und noch eine wichtige Entscheidung ist zu fällen: Vor Thanksgiving muss der Präsident einen Truthahn begnadigen.
Toby encourages the President to appoint Leo's controversial sister to a national education post, against Leo's objections; Bartlet must decide what the do with 83 Chinese citizens who stowed away on a freighter ship and seek asylum on the grounds of religious persecution; CJ has to decide which one of two turkeys the President should "pardon" but then tries to save the other from the chopping block; Charlie is tasked with buying the President a new carving knife which is not as easy as it sounds.

Il Presidente decide di incontrare uno degli esuli cinesi per verificare se queste persone stanno dicendo la verità.
Poco antes del Día de Acción de Gracias, Bartlet tiene que decidir el destino de un buque repleto de inmigrantes ilegales procedentes de China que dicen ser cristianos en busca de asilo político por razones religiosas.
Toby quiere que le den a la problemática hermana de Leo un puesto en educación. C.J. tiene que elegir un pavo y Charlie recibe la misión de encontrar el cuchillo perfecto para trinchar.
