Toby freut sich auf seinen freien Nachmittag. Den möchte er nämlich auf dem Bauernhof bei den Tieren verbringen. Da werden ihm aber unerwartet Sonderaufgaben aufgebrummt. In seiner Not bittet Toby seine Freunde um Hilfe. Aber jeder von ihnen scheint so beschäftigt, dass keiner Toby helfen kann. Das macht ihn ganz traurig. Doch dann hat Toby Glück. Weil das Meer so stürmisch ist, werden seine Sonderaufgaben auf den nächsten Tag verschoben. Schnell düst er in Richtung Bauernhof. Unterwegs sieht er Henry, der zusammengebrochen ist. Und der erzählt Toby, dass ihm all die anderen Maschinen jetzt helfen. Jetzt versteht Toby, warum die anderen keine Zeit für ihn hatten. Sofort bietet er auch Henry seine Hilfe an und verzichtet auf seinen freien Nachmittag.
Toby thinks he has the afternoon off, and so plans to visit the farmyard and see the animals, which he enjoys greatly. But Toby is soon worried upon the Fat Controller assigning him three very important, and very out of the blue special trains. He couldn’t possibly make it in time to the farm now, or at least on his own. To try and still make it, Toby asks the other engines if they are able to help him out at all, but they are simply much too busy for the poor little Tram Engine. But with great luck for Toby, choppy seas delay one of the special deliveries till the next day, which means Toby will now make it to the farm, or so he thinks.
Tobik wcześnie kończy swoja pracę i myśli, że będzie mógł zobaczyć zwierzęta w gospodarstwie. Otrzymuje jednak od zawiadowcy trzy ważne zadania, które zajmą mu resztę dnia. Tobik postanawia poprosić swoich przyjaciół o pomoc. Nikt jednak nie ma dla niego czasu. Tobik jest zawiedzony, ale wkrótce dowiaduje się, że jego przyjaciele nie mogli mu pomóc, gdyż pomagali wtedy zepsutemu Heniowi.
