يحاول مجموعة من الأشقاء بيع المسرح المملوك لجدهم لحل مشاكلهم المادية، لكن يترك الجد وصية يشترط فيها أن يقوم الورثة بإعادة فتح المسرح وتقديم 12 عرضا مسرحيا عليه، أو يكون المسرح ملكا للدولة. ويدخل الأحفاد في حيرة بسبب عدم قدرتهم على تشغيل المسرح، وفي نفس الوقت يحتاجون إلى إرث جدهم.
