Meanwhile, Emily is initially angry that Helen is trying to set her up with eligible bachelor Bertie Smuth, while Myrtle suspects there's something amiss and encourages Thomas to challenge Bertie for Emily's affections.

    Margaret intends to take the group on a day trip to London to deliver an impassioned speech in support of the cause, but a series of incidents results in all women being banned from the train station. Emily's plan to send Margaret to the capital on Frank's bike doesn't work out and Helen is typically smug until someone has a brainwave.

Eva wants to put on The Dirty Princess - her version of Cinderella - while Margaret hopes to stage the story of Joan of Arc.
