Year 2000. Message about the explosion on the submarine "Kursk" is a real shock to the journalist Alisa Varezhkina. A few years ago clairvoyant Vanga predicted this disaster. In 1996 a small film crew, led by Eltsin's aide Sergei Medvedev, travels to Bulgaria to learn at Vanga probability of re-election of President for a second term. Along with crew traveling Alisa, a student intern Moscow State University, which has always forgets and confuses something. But this girl has scampish kindly to Vanga and first encounter quickly turns into a monologue - confession of famous clairvoyant.
Despite her blindness, Vanga copes with the responsibilities of the home and takes care of her little brother. The local priest offers her father to send the girl to Sofia in the House of Blind. At the new location opens Vanga completely different life. Especially close girl converges with the teacher - 18-year-old Russian émigré Olga Vasiltsova. A first grader Vanga and recently blinded girl Snezhana can not come to terms with their new invalid condition. One day Vanga already slowly start to giving evidence of her own clairvoyance, she "sees" near Snezhana's death.
Vanga continues his story about her happiest years. In the House of Blind arrives a new inhabitant: Dimitar, son of the rich peasants. Step by step is their convergence - the first kiss and... offer to marry him. Dimitar's parents agree and begins preparing for the wedding.
Pande, Vanga's father, comes to the House of Blind and just takes her with him. The reason is simple: His second wife died and he needs help to raise three young children. The native home life is very different from the cloudless stay in the House for the Blind. One night there is a strong earthquake. Many people died. Only Vanga's family remains fully intact. Shortly before the collapse of the house she able to get the kids out of the yard. Olga, her girlfriend in Sofia is in big trouble. The new director of the House of the Blind bully her and behaves obscenely. Olga came to visit Vanga and she tells her to run away from evil. Vanga's problems don't stop up here - the new priest in village decided to banish the demons from the "blind witch".
In 1996 an american came to Vanga, she predicted before him that iron birds will kill the twins and will shed a lot of blood. Year 1931. Vasil, her little brother, drives away the crowd, led by a priest Yona, that came to Vanga to exorcises her demons. The girl confidently handles her own gift, it helps his father to find lost sheep. Olga leaves the House of Blind. She comes to Sofia, rents a cheap room in a guest house and begins to look for a job.
Olga is hungry to fainting. Her neighbor in the guesthouse, Alexey Neznamov, comes to help her. It offers the girl to work as an assistant at the clinic. Vanga has vision about Fine Horseman, who directing her to the special flowers that can be curative. After a few years, it cures with herbs her brother Vasil. A little later Vanga's father is seriously ill, but these herbs are powerless - her father dies. Olga accidentally sees someone named Velchev to rummaging in the papers in Neznamov's office. She tells Alex about that. Neznamov goes to Velchev's home and interrogates him, which turns into a real battle - Velchev is killed, Neznamov is wounded. Olga takes care of Alex, he asks her to marry him. After a while Neznamov admits to Olga that he works for Russian intelligence. Vanga predicts to the villagers that in 1941 the war begins.
Spring of 1941. Neznamov reports to Moscow about Hitler's attack on the Soviet Union at the end of June. Beriya does not believe this. Olga on the advice of her husband comes to visit his girlfriend. Vanga predicts her that she would have a son and their life with Alex will be long, but difficult. The Germans are coming in Bulgaria. Vanga says the villagers to not be afraid of anything - Russians will smash the fascists. The fame of the Bulgarian prophet is so broad that it reaches to Hitler himself. She predicts it will be defeated by the Soviet Union. Hitler is furious, but prohibits germans to touch Vanga.
Neznamov refuses to perform resulting from the center a secret mission, which is contrary to his beliefs. Grunlich exposes Alexey. In the ensuing battle Neznamov kills the Gestapo man. However, it is impossible to escape - Olga began to birth, and Alexey was arrested by the Germans. More and more people visiting Vanga for help. Among them was the Bulgarian Tsar Boris, and a soldier Mitko, which it predicts simply: "Your destiny is to be my husband." Soon, along with her sister Lyubka, Vanga moved to the ramshackle house of Mitko in Petrich.
Seriously ill Mitko is released from the army. Vasil and Lyubka goes to the partisans. Vanga anticipates the death of her brother, but can't change anything. After the explosion of the bridge Germans take hostages the entire village. Saving all people, Vasil admits that he blew up the bridge. In front of all villagers the Germans shot him. In Bulgaria enters the Red Army. Olga begins to find her husband and appealed for help the military commander of Sofia. Vanga is in new trouble - the recovered Mitko become addicted to alcohol.
Alisa Varezhkina is aggressively courted from her new friend Vitalik. She feels that in his relationship to her is something wrong. In 1945 Olga with her son arrives to Vanga in Petrich. Vanga advises her friend to return to Russia and describes a place where to find Alexey. Thanks to this description Olga finds her husband in former German concentration camp. The whole family goes to Moscow. Year 1952. Above Alexey's head there is dark clouds - many of his colleagues are arrested on suspicion of spying. Questioned him and persistently offered him to work in laboratory of mind control. On the advice of his wife, Alex deceives its committees that is suffering from Parkinson's disease. After he retired due to illnessand, the family goes to a remote Siberian village. Vanga and Mitko adopt the little Violeta. Soon she predicts that after а half year Stalin will died. For these words she is being arrested.
Alisa breaks off relations with Vitalik, who actually is an employee of the FSB. The girl says she does not love him. Year 1953. On the day of Stalin's death, Vanga is released from prison. In 1962 Mitko dies, and soon at the house of Vanga appears adopted son - also Mitko. Olga struggles to go to Bulgaria to meet with Vanga. Both are happy from this meeting. Vanga advises Olga her son to become a pilot, not a submariner. Many years later Olga will understand that in this way Vanga saved the life of her grandson.
In 1996 Alisa returns to Moscow. There she is expelled from the Moscow State University. Medvedev helps her to come back in the university and let go to Kursk to understand prophecy of Vanga that the city will disappear under water. Vanga, as she has predicted, dies on August 11, 1996. In 2000, after the submerging of the submarine "Kursk", Alisa calls Medvedev and gets the job to finish the film about Vanga. In the winter of 2001 she is looking for a family of Olga Neznamova, who living in the suburbs. The girl brings to Olga, her son and grandson mounted film about the Bulgarian clairvoyant, but when starts the image from the film disappears. Olga's grandson falls in love with Alisa - this is the thread, which according to Vanga, closes the circle of people closest to her.
