O'Keefe and Abbott will begin in Ypres where the initial battles of the war took place in October and November 1914 but will focus mainly on the area where the Second Battle of Ypres in 1915 occurred. O'Keefe and Abbott will search the battlefields in and around this area to find the most dramatic stories to tell and mysteries to solve.
The War Junk team gets a rare and incredible opportunity to investigate a 100 year old German tunnel on sacred ground at Beaumont Hamel also known as Newfoundland Park, the land where hundreds of Newfoundland Troops were killed on the first day of the Somme.

The team travel south of Rome to investigate the Monte Cassino area of Italy. This was one of the bloodiest campaigns fought as Allied forces marched up through the Liri Valley from end of December 1943 until May 1944.
In April 1945 Canadian troops were in a viscous battle against strong German opposition as they moved through Northern Holland on they're way to liberating the Dutch. The War Junk team's objective is to tell the story of liberation through any artefacts they find.

The team looks at one of the most iconic battles in military history - Operation Market Garden. On September 17th and 18th, 1944 over 35,000 Airborne Troops land in three drop zones over southern Holland with the objective of capturing a number of bridges in an attempt to break into Germany. It is the story of the great movie A Bridge Too Far.
The team investigates the battlefield of Operation Veritable that takes place in February 1945 which started the push Allied push into Germany. They will also explore the dangerous Riechwald Forest where loads of left over ordinance can be found.
