Today the wind was pretty extreme, so I took our DJI Mini 2 Drone that Kristi has nicknamed "Jack" out for a little wind test. The sustained winds at ground level were 15 mph and the gusts were in the 30s, but at height (100-400 feet) the winds were pretty extreme at mid 20s sustained and low to mid 40s gusts. I went to a friend's property where there's a pretty large open field for this quick wind test and put Jack to work. I was using a CPL filter for the first time due to the overcast skies, but I made a mistake when attaching it to the gimbal. I placed it a bit low, so during the video, a dark shadow area can be seen in both upper corners. I hope it's not too distracting to the video and to the test, but I promise I will get better at checking things like that before recording. The area Jack (DJI Mini 2 Drone) was flying during this test is within controlled air space as there is an airport to the south, but be at ease and know that I did obtain FAA LAANC approval.
