Wrestler and Commentator

Gorilla Monsoon was a professional wrestler, commentator, and WWF executive known for his immense size, authority, and warm, authoritative voice. After competing in the ring during the 1960s and 1970s, he became best known as the lead play-by-play announcer for WWF television alongside Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. Their chemistry helped define WWF broadcasts in the 1980s and 1990s. He also served as an important behind-the-scenes executive, helping shape the company’s expansion era.
