After competing in the ring during the 1960s and 1970s, he became best known as the lead play-by-play announcer for WWF television alongside Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. Their chemistry helped define WWF broadcasts in the 1980s and 1990s. He also served as an important behind-the-scenes executive, helping shape the company’s expansion era.
