Charlese Xaviera jedné noci vytrhne ze sna telefon. To není nic příjemného. Ještě méně příjemné je, když se dozví, že na konci telefonu se dožaduje jeho sluchu někdo, kdo ho nazývá otcem. A už vůbec na ránu je muset z své vyhřáté postele vstát, letět přes půl planety a vytáhnout milého synka z jeho nemalých potíží.

David Haller, Xavier's son, who has lived away from his father's knowledge, contacts him seeking help. He has been kidnapped by a man called Lucas. Xavier, Jean, Scott and Storm travel to Scotland where Xavier's ex-wife lives with David and a street boy called Ian. When Ian leaves the house, Jean follows him and is kidnapped by Lucas. Scott tracks them to an old castle in ruins where teenagers throw parties and gets captured. Xavier and David's mother find Ian and with his help, they get to the castle and face the boys there while Jean, Scott and David escape. David meets his father for the first time, and he reveals he is actually Ian. Lucas, too, by turning into Ian first and later into Lucas. His multiple personalities change his appearence every time. Xavier enters in his son's mind trying to erase Ian and Lucas, but fails and Lucas is the only one left who disappears in the sky. Meanwhile, at Bayville, Kitty and Kurt are way too sick to go to school.

Professeur X apprend qu'il a un fils, David, qui le contacte pour lui demander de l'aide. Xavier emmène avec lui Tornade, Cyclope et Jean pour aller à la rencontre de son destin brisé. Sur place, tout se complique : David a en fait plusieurs personnalités qui se battent en lui pour le contrôler : un puissant télépathe, un télé kinésiste et un pyromane.

Xavier recebe uma ligação de seu filho, David, pedindo por socorro. Ele parte com Ororo, Jean e Scott para a casa de sua ex-mulher e descobre que seu filho está desaparecido. Os X-Men conhecem Ian, um garoto que foi encontrado nas ruas por David, e que agora mora em sua casa. Mas o garoto sabe do paradeiro de David e não quer revelar aos X-Men. Jean e Scott vão investigar num castelo abandonado, onde festas eram organizadas pelo mutante Lucas, mas são capturados e presos nos arredores do castelo por Lucas. Xavier, sua ex-mulher e Tempestade vão até o castelo, salvam Jean e Scott e descobrem que David, Ian e Lucas são a mesma pessoa. Xavier tenta fazer contato telepático para que apenas David sobrepuje sobre às outras duas personalidades. Mas Lucas aparece, revelando que na verdade ele é o filho de Xavier e que armou este plano para que, com os poderes de Xavier, seus poderes pudessem ser libertados. Lucas foge, e Xavier ganha mais um problema para preocupá-lo.

David Haller, el hijo de Xavier, que ha vivido lejos del conocimiento de su padre, lo contacta en busca de ayuda. Ha sido secuestrado por un hombre llamado Lucas. Xavier, Jean, Scott y Storm viajan a Escocia, donde la ex esposa de Xavier vive con David y un chico de la calle llamado Ian. Cuando Ian sale de la casa, Jean lo sigue y es secuestrado por Lucas.
