物語の中心となるのは、新人漫画賞を受賞して以来、出版社に漫画の売り込みをしている女子大生・鈴ヶ森千佳だが、落選が続いているというものだ。 漫画業界に参入することに絶望しかけていたとき、彼女は、特に目的もなく、気まぐれに旅に出ることを決意する。
