段凌，一位正直宗主的儿子，幼年时被天绝宗掳走，成为宗主修炼的祭品。魔宗少主陆修文表面上刁难段凌，实则暗中保护他。在宗主即将献祭段凌的前夜，陆修文伪装成他的弟弟，冒着生命危险救出了段凌。临别之际，段凌误将他认作陆修彦。 逃脱后，段凌潜心修炼武艺，心中对“救命恩人”陆修彦怀有长达十年的执念，同时又对“苦毒”的师兄陆修文恨之入骨。十年后，段凌率领一门名门，摧毁了天绝宗，并在一条密道中找到了武艺残缺、身中剧毒的陆修文。为了逼问段凌陆修彦的下落，段凌带上了陆修文；陆修文伶牙俐齿，风流成性，利用弟弟的秘密来操控段凌。两人一同踏上寻找陆修彦的旅程，却发现陆修彦早已成家立业，段凌十年的执念也随之破灭。相处的时光里，段凌爱上了陆修彦，却固执地不肯承认；而身中不治之毒的陆修文，则默默地等待着他的死亡。
