Saying Goodbye to TheTVDB Forums

September 15, 2020

As noted in this forum announcement, as well as on Twitter and Facebook, we have reached shut-down day for TheTVDB forums. As a result, the forums are now in read-only archival status. They will remain as a resource for historical decisions and information, but can no longer be updated or receive new posts.

Any and all site-related issues should now be directed to our ticketing system available at support.thetvdb.com, or via the Support option in the site's header menu. It is our hope that the new system will streamline responses from our moderators, prevent requests from being overlooked or handled incorrectly, and give better insight into potential improvements on the site itself.

There are a few neat feature updates that come with the new system, too: image uploads directly into the ticket, easier editing, formatting, hyperlinking, etc. (without having to use BBCode), and notifications/status updates on all of your tickets.

Please see our Knowledgebase for info on creating an osTicket account, as well as our process for submitting a new ticket. You will need to create a new account on osTicket in order to use the system. Your TheTVDB login info will not work on osTicket.

Of course, we do know that moving over to a ticketing system takes away the conversational aspect that the forums were great for. We are currently in the process of coming up with a better way to discuss policies as a community, and will have more info on this in the coming months.

Any major changes and feature releases will be announced on our social feeds — Twitter and FaceBook, namely — or through our site blog, which you happen to be reading now.

We're super excited about enhancing our support capabilities, and hope you feel the same.
