"Hape" Wegener ist ein Alt-Hippie und hat viele Schulden. Auf dem Friedhof lernt er zufällig die Witwe Martha Ebinghaus kennen, die eindeutig aus vermögenden Kreisen stammt. Hape gibt sich als geheimnisvoller Diplomat aus, um das Vertrauen der labilen Martha zu erschleichen und will dann finanziellen Vorteile daraus ziehen. Martha ist von Hape und seinen Geschichten fasziniert und Hapes Plan scheint aufzugehen.
