Juliette, ouvrière dans une petite ville côtière, est embauchée comme femme de ménage par quatre étrangers fantasques qui ont loué une maison sur la plage. Elle va partager la vie de bohème du groupe, composé d'un écrivain, de sa femme, de l'amant de celle-ci, et d'un acteur sans contrat. Un casting remarquable, avec notamment Michael Lonsdale et Catherine Frot.
