Born into a show-business dynasty, Christopher Elwin Neame made his name as a producer of quality television dramas including The Flame Trees of Thika (1981), The Irish RM (1984) and Soldier Soldier (1993). He also wrote and produced the BAFTA nominated Monsignor Quixote (1987) and movies such as Feast of July (1995). His father was film director Ronald Neame, and his grandparents were silent film director Elwin Neame and film actress Ivy Close.
