一人の女の流転の人生を通して、政財界の裏にうごめく悪に光を当てながら、色と欲に目がくらんだ「けもの」のような人間たちを描く。料亭の仲居・成沢民子は小滝という男と知り合い、共謀して寝たきりの亭主を殺し、多額の報酬を約束されて政界の黒幕の下へと送り込まれる。
