香港買樓「上車」的難度可謂世界之冠。 2008年金融海嘯，超市經理車志明慌忙賣樓，誰知狂追樓價十四年也未能再上車，中產慘變「中慘」。 妻子雯慧憶樓成狂，到豪宅當鐘點女傭，拍照上載社交平台，令表妹覺得自己還在住豪宅；小女兒露宿街頭，博取提早分配公屋的機會；大女兒更以假結婚手段去抽居屋…最後志明把心一橫，竟認母親的情敵作母，想騙取這老小三的公屋單位。 車家用盡下流手段為圓上車夢，鬧得笑料百出，嚐盡親情衝突，感情激變，幸最後醒悟「屋」不等於「家」，一家人終放棄追「屋」夢，同願以愛為家。
