展昭一行擒获襄阳王府要犯准备择日押解上京，丁月影为白玉堂与展昭的对立关系苦恼不已，白玉堂告诉她会在联亲之前尽快解决此事。白玉堂欲独自救义兄颜仁敏脱罪，唯恐展昭从中多事，是夜潜入展昭房内，哪知丁月影尾随而来。玉堂正将举起木棒，丁月影以为他要伤害展昭，情急之下破窗而入，展昭惊醒，懵懂中奋力还击，月影竟而香消玉陨。白玉堂痛悔不已出家。 这版剧情对比原著较大的改动之处是把丁氏兄弟换成丁氏双姝，由此展昭和白玉堂成了姻亲，而丁月影后来竟被展昭错手误杀。
