    Simon Kane tours the wine regions of the USA's West Coast. Calistoga is one of Napa Valley's northernmost locations, famed for its picturesque hillside wineries and natural hot springs. Simon visits two local wineries, checks out some hotels and restaurants, visits the famous Old Faithful geyser and goes hot air ballooning.

Calaveras County, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, was made famous by the Mark Twain in 'The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County'. Simon tours the region taking in the dramatic Big Sur, romantic Carmel, Pacific Grove, 17 mile Drive, Pebble Beach and Monterey's very own wine country.

One of the California's original 27 counties, El Dorado is the undisputed home of the Gold Rush, and possibly home of the American vineyard too, with vines originally planted in 1849. Simon Kane visits a number of historic sites in the county, several wineries and the town of Placerville.

Simon visits all six of its communities, often referred to as San Francisco's playground, touring leisure attractions, nature parks and historical sights.
