Rhonda trifft ihre alte Freundin Theresa wieder, die inzwischen Mitglied in einer Tanztruppe ist. Sie hatte vor Jahren das Engagement bekommen, weil Rhonda nicht zu dem damaligen Vortanzen erschienen ist. Als die Direktorin der Truppe wieder ein Vortanzen arrangiert, will sich Rhonda die Chance nicht noch einmal entgehen lassen. Derweil brodelt die Gerüchteküche in der Apartmentanlage gewaltig, weil Alison die Nacht in Jakes Wohnung verbracht hat. Natürlich dichten die anderen Bewohner den beiden sofort ein Verhältnis an. Dabei hat Alison Jake nur dabei geholfen, efür eine Prüfung zu lernen...

Billy is depressed when the Melrose Times folds. He asks Alison to accompany him on a visit to his parents' house, then pleads with her to pose as his girlfriend. Billy tries to convince his parents that he is on the verge of becoming a successful writer, but is roped into helping run his father's furniture store because of a deal the two once made. He quits in a huff after his father questions his sales techniques, and later asks his dad to let him live his own life. Sandy gets a swelled head after landing a part in a horror movie, and ends up moving out. She comes down to earth after the director tries to insert nudity into one of her scenes. Michael injures himself at the apartment. He and Jane discuss their excitement and anxiety about the upcoming birth of their baby.

Alison aide Jake à obtenir son diplôme d'études secondaires parce qu'il est embarassé. Ils deviennent intiment et s'embrasent, mais ce n'est rien de sérieux. A la fin et Jake obtient son fameux papier. Rhonda rencontre une ancienne amie, qui a une audition pour laquelle elle s'est entraînée elle aussi, mais elle s'est blessé une jambe et ne peut y participer. Rhonda songe à y aller mais elle a peur d'échouer. Elle passe l'audition pour le poste vacant du même show et pourra probablement l'obtenir, mais décide de rester à ses cours de cardio funk.
