General Manager Kiaran MacDonald is in charge of the project, but things do not go to plan. The original budget is soon spent and on the day of the scheduled re-opening the hotel is still a building site. Despite the efforts of construction site manager John Ferrari and his 1,000-strong workforce, the completion date slips 12 months behind the original prediction. When the official re-opening date is finally announced, every department rushes to train and prepare their staff for the big day. Butlers, cooks and front-of-house staff strive to live up to the five-star standard of service demanded, with just days before the doors open.
